Want to reach customers in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Rostov-on-Don, Minsk, or any other region? Easily. Your message is delivered exactly to the audience you want to reach.
Types of SMS messaging
Alphanumeric sender ID
An alphanumeric sender ID in SMS messaging is a sender name (also known as an alpha sender or sender ID).
It replaces the standard phone number in the message with a text-based brand or company name.
For example:
-
Instead of a phone number like +7 900 123 45 67, the recipient sees a sender name such as Mediarik or BANK24.
-
Messages sent from a recognizable sender name build trust, as they do not come from an unknown number.
Key features:
-
Length is usually limited to 11 Latin characters (non-Latin characters are often not supported by all carriers).
-
Spaces and special characters (such as @, #, %) are not allowed.
-
Letter case is preserved, but uppercase letters are commonly used for better recognition (for example, COMPANY).
-
The sender name must be registered with mobile carriers to prevent spoofing.
Numeric sender ID
A numeric sender ID in SMS messaging means that the sender is displayed as a regular phone number or a short service code, rather than an alphanumeric brand name.
For example:
-
Instead of the sender name MEDIARIK, the recipient sees a phone number such as +7 900 123 45 67 or a short code like 1234.
-
These messages are commonly used for service notifications, one-time passwords (OTP), activations, and technical alerts.
Key features:
-
The sender is displayed as a long phone number or a short code (typically 3 to 6 digits, for example 900).
-
The number can be unique (allowing replies) or shared when used for bulk messaging via mobile carriers.
-
A numeric sender ID usually does not require separate registration, unlike an alphanumeric sender ID, but it is less brand-oriented.
-
From the recipient’s perspective, a numeric sender appears more neutral or service-oriented than an alphanumeric sender.
